None of us like predators but that is the way of things out there. We have watched the jay steal the young from the cardinals nests watching him fly away with one in his beak. The parents could do nothing. The same with the dove eggs. I'm sure yours will be back to lay more eggs. After all the species survives. It is just meant to be that some must be food for others. How does a snake get up a straight pole? We can only be observers.Rock rose https://www.blogger.com/profile/00348711150803587369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8567299696963524925.post-38794459240454318972013-05-30T22:56:36.098-05:002013-05-30T22:56:36.098-05:00Sheryl--

W...Oh, I'm so sorry to hear the eggs were gone. We had a similar situation this Spring. We have a family of Wrens that nest in the wreaths on our front door. Unfortunately, the neighborhood cat attacked the nest. Everything was ripped apart and the babies were gone. I cried. I noticed a couple of days later the momma bird started slowly rebuilding her nest. Truly, there is a lesson there. Nature can teach us so much about life.
