I think ornithologist Cliff Shackelford told me that the squirrels should be done nesting by the time the owls are ready to start. Or maybe it was vice versa. We have two boxes, which was recommended by Cliff. The female uses one to nest in the spring and roost in the winter. The males roosts in the other one in the winter. Hope this helps!Sheryl Smith-Rodgershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04707017321692698815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8567299696963524925.post-73136385081205487862009-11-20T13:52:14.446-06:002009-11-20T13:52:14.446-06:00How cool. I'm afraid if we had a nesting box, it would be like Pam's, and the squirrels would take over.Linda/patchworkhttp://patchworkgarden.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8567299696963524925.post-3896927291943778962009-11-19T21:46:11.741-06:002009-11-19T21:46:11.741-06:00Agatha is so cute. Do I need to play slumlord and kick her out? Any advice on how to keep her out until we get a respectable tenant?Pam/Digginghttp://www.penick.net/diggingnoreply@blogger.com
