While we were hauling mulch back and forth last week, I spotted purple in the grass on our neighbor's side of the fence. I stopped long enough to mark the plant so we wouldn't run over it. Then a day or two later, I took some photos and researched. My conclusion: Lespedeza texana. Joe Marcus at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center confirmed my ID! So meet Texas bush-clover! A pretty, delicate little plant. I transplanted some for our Wildscape.
