Busy evening

After I found the trapdoor spiderlings, James spotted this FAT caterpillar, likely a sphinx species, in the American beautyberry. It was HUGE. It's a rustic sphinx larva (Manduca rustica).

Twice-stabbed ladybug eating an oleander aphid.
 Another ground beetle wandering along....

Love how the caterpillar waited for you to measure it. What a patient little guy.

It was STILL dining on beautyberry leaves the next morning!
