Native passionflowers

Passiflora tenuiloba    (Given to us by friends Ron and Linda...grows in Blanco County)
Passiflora incarnata  (Purchased at a Llano plant sale)
Passiflora lutea (Transplanted wild from adjoining neighbor's yard...definitely from Blanco County! Ignore the seedling; likely a hackberry that's gone now. )

Darn, I realized I don't have Passiflora affinis. I need to put that species on my wish list!

Medina Nursery just across from Love Creek Orchard has ALL the native Passion vines. I went last year and the butterfly larvae had decimated them but plan to return this year. Seems to be an off year for butterflies here thus far, even on the pipevines which are generally eaten by now by the black swallowtail larvae, so I'm betting Medina Nursery has good Passifloras now. The plus is that it is a lovely drive over the high hills. And the famous deep dish apple pie at Love Creek Cafe isn't bad either!

Thanks for the great photo of P tenuiloba. been wondering what its scientific name was. It is growing at a friends house in North San Antonio near FM1604.
