We love bird baths. To an extreme, I'd say. In the back yard, I think we've gotten up to 20 now. Of all sizes and shapes. While at the Little Nature Store in Boerne last week, a solar contraption caught my eye--a Floating Lily Solar Fountain. I offered to buy it for James' birthday (which was yesterday), but he said no, thanks, he'd much rather have something called a D-R Trimmer? Not to worry. I bought the fountain any way! It's pretty cool. The solar panels power the water pump ONLY when the sun's out. We'll see how long it lasts. |

How nice that you have so many birdbaths and providing water for many birds during the drought. I have two but it is always a problem keeping them in water. At the moment the little goldfinches come to my water feature in the front garden and they also peck away at my chard.
Love the mosaic bird bath! It will be interesting to know how the solar fountain works.
That mosaic bird bath is so unique and it is gorgeous - love how the colors echo the spaces around it. I love a functional piece like this that also adds beauty to a space just by being there, don't you? We "only" have 3 birdbaths (so far) and I plan to ask for another on my birthday.
Well, that's all it does, Susan. Circulate and splash water from a solar-powered submerged pump. :-)
And yes, Deb, I especially love mosaic pieces like this bird bath. Keep an eye on CraigsList--you're bound to find some there. And I need to add a photo of another bird bath we recently got for $10.....
Hey Rock Rose! I need to check out your water feature!
