Back to basics

Last month, while sharing a picnic lunch in our back yard with the seniors from Blanco's Henry House, Sally (their activity director) commented that we should have a swing in our yard. Yes, I agreed. Why didn't I think of that before, I thought to myself later.

When I suggested the idea to James, he agreed. So I got online and looked around. I finally settled on a basic wooden swing from Woodtreeswing.com. My package arrived yesterday!

We almost bought expensive tree straps for hanging the swing from one of our oaks in the Meadow. But we both researched enough online  that we decided it'd be safe for both us and the tree to use basic eye bolts.

After supper last night, we went outside, and James hung my new wooden tree swing! Isn't it great? Thank you, Sally!

Your smiles are all the proof anyone would need to know that swing is going to be a hit. Some days the best way to catch a breeze is to make your own!

(Nice new photo up top by the way. )

Oh wow -- I love it! Brings back memories of how I loved to swing with my eyes closed and imagine all kinds of wonderful things. Let me see; where oh where can I hang one now?

You two are adorable! Never too old to enjoy a tree swing!
Thanks for letting us know that one can be ordered online. I was thinking the other day that I'd like to have one for my future grandchildren but seeing yours makes me wonder, why wait?!

Very nice! I miss seeing you in Dallas, but I'm glad you're happy in the Hill Country.

Hey Peter, think you've got me mixed up with another Sheryl? I've never lived in Dallas and avoid the city--no offense meant--at all costs. :-)
