Lots of ladybugs

Well, we don't have THAT many. But we do have several. And just I was posting my ladybug images to iNaturalist, Trisha down the street called and asked if I was seeing a lot of ladybugs.

These are multi-colored Asian lady beetles (Harmonia axyridis). The species has many color variations

What's up with the ladybug showing up in crowds? From the little bit that I read, it seems they're looking for a warm place to  hibernate for the winter. So shut those windows!

Noooo, I don't want to see any! Thousands of those cute little bugs invaded our house in Alabama. Once they found their way in we had them everywhere and in everything. They especially liked the ceilings from which they would drop by the hundreds into the lights. Then they died and caused a big stink. We ended up taping around all the windows and most doors. It was a mess and so creepy I still won't buy anything decorated with a ladybug even though I know they are not the same.

Oh, my goodness! What a mess! I don't blame you for despising ladybugs of any kind!
