Three days later...

The turk's cap seedling is about to pop out of its hull.....

I didn't know this plant. I understand it is a nativ shrub in Texas?

Yes, turk's cap is native and has a red bloom. There's also a white bloom and a cultivated pink bloom ('Pam's Pink'). We have all three in our Wildscape.
