Look who James photographed! I'd been outside earlier to fill up a few bird baths. I heard a commotion and glanced up at the owl box. But the opening was empty. Oh, I thought, an owl must have been up there, roosting, and I scared it back down into the box. Sure enough, James later spotted an eastern screech owl in the box! He got a couple of photos. I love to see our Owl Shacks being used.
Look outside today! We're getting a nice wintery mix of sleet and snow. So pretty! I felt sorry for the birds because we've run out of bird seed. So I brought in a suet feeder for repairs, namely the addition of perches. James drilled in some screws. I made a small batch of suet. It didn't take the birds long to find their treats!
