Caterpilllar season starting!

Say good by to our pipevine plants (Aristolochia fimbriata) because once these pipevine cats (Battus philenor) get going, they eat EVERYTHING!

But that's why we plant what we do, of course.

Yay! More Pipevine Swallowtail butterflies:) I've tried this white veined variety of pipevine in my garden. It is an attractive plant, but unfortunately it did not make it. Do you have yours in full sun or part shade?

These pipevines live under some live oaks in the Meadow. Dappled shade, then?
